Who we are
FaighPaid (“we”, “us”) provides an invoicing and payment-chasing tool for Irish contractors and freelancers, at faighpaid.com.
What data we collect
- Account data: the email address and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text) you sign up with, and any business details you add in Settings (business name, address, Irish VAT number, ECB reference rate).
- Client data: the name, email address, postal address and VAT number of any client you add, so we can create invoice records on your behalf.
- Invoice data: line items, amounts, VAT rates, due dates and payment/reminder history for invoices you create.
- Invoice checker and optional updates: see the separate section below.
- Technical data: short-lived, in-memory counters of login failures, signups verification-email requests, invoice checks and updates requests per network address, used only to rate-limit abuse. They are never written to the database and disappear when the server restarts. We keep no history of when you log in.
- Page view counts: a daily tally per public page (for example “/pricing was viewed 12 times on 20 September”). It is a number only: no identifier of any kind is stored alongside it.
We store invoice and credit-note records, reminder text and action history. An action record does not prove message delivery. Buyer details embedded in new issued records are preserved when you edit a client contact. Older records can be marked as captured at upgrade rather than at issue.
Why we collect it
We use account, client and invoice data to run the invoicing service, track payment status, prepare or send reminders you initiate, and keep your account secure. Separately, you can request optional FaighPaid product updates as described below. We do not sell or rent your data or share it for third-party advertising.
Invoice checker and optional updates
Invoice details submitted to the checker are processed to display your result and returned in that response. They are not saved as invoice records or with an updates request.
Only if you separately submit the updates form with explicit consent do we store your email address, request time and an optional basic-check score. The score is caller-supplied metadata, not evidence of tax status or a verified invoice. We use this entry to manage your request for occasional FaighPaid product updates. Consent is optional and does not affect access to the checker.
No email is sent by the checker or the updates-request form. Your email address is not verified by submitting that form.
Updates requests have no automatic expiry. We handle withdrawal and deletion requests manually. To withdraw consent or request removal of your updates entry, email privacy@faighpaid.com with the address you used.
Who we share it with
Service providers:
- Email delivery: when we send you or your clients an email (e.g. a welcome message or an overdue-payment reminder), the message is sent via Resend, our transactional email provider, which processes the recipient address and message content solely to deliver that email.
- Hosting: the application and its database run on Railway, our hosting provider, which stores the data described above on our behalf.
- Payments: FaighPaid's own subscription billing is handled by Stripe. We send the identifiers and subscription details needed to process payments. Invoice payments go directly from the client to the business, by bank transfer or on the business's own card payment page; FaighPaid does not receive or hold that money. FaighPaid does not receive your full card number.
We use no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking services, and we do not profile visitors. We keep only an anonymous count of how many times each public page was viewed per day — no IP address, device, cookie or account is recorded against it, so these counts cannot be traced back to any person.
How long we keep account data
For as long as your account is active. If you close your account, contact us and we will delete your account, client and invoice records, except where we are legally required to keep financial records for tax purposes.
Cancelling a paid plan does not by itself delete your invoices. This is not a six-year archival-service guarantee. Keep your own downloadable records for the periods Revenue requires; specified cases can require longer retention. Contact us about account closure and applicable legal retention obligations.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data at any time. Contact us at the address below and we will act on your request promptly.
